Going on a Maui vacation is bound to be something that most any person will want to do at some point in his or her life. Well, it needn’t be a stress-inducing or frustrating experience in planning or finally going on it, either. All it takes to prevent such an occurrence is to do a little prior planning – using the Internet as a resource – and then have an appreciation for island beauty and native culture.

Delightful Tourist Attractions To Visit In Dundee, Scotland

Dienstag, April 28th, 2009

Dundee has been the site of a settlement ever since the time of the Picts. The city of Dundee, the fourth largest city in the whole of Scotland, has had a long association with trade and commerce. The three primary trades, in the city, were “journalism, jute and jam”.  Even though the city of Dundee could be described as post-industrial it has a mixed economy and it still has a large proportion of its population employed in the manufacturing industry (compared to elsewhere in Scotland), roughly 13.5%. In recent years the tourism trade has begun to become an important part of the city’s economy and there are a large number of hotels offering Dundee bed and breakfast accommodation and in the article below I introduce the reader to three tourist attractions in Dundee; Verdant Works, Discover Point Visitor Centre and Sensation Science Centre:

Vacations In Bradford, England and Things To See And Do

Dienstag, April 28th, 2009

Bradford is located in West Yorkshire, a county in England. Lying in the foothills of the Pennines (mountain range) Bradford was excellently placed to thrive during the industrial revolution. In fact, during the eighteen hundreds, Bradford was at the very forefront of the Industrial revolution and the town very quickly became an important international textile manufacturing centre, specialising in the wool industry and Bradford became known as the wool capital of the world. Because of the abundance of raw materials of coal, iron ore and soft water the city witnessed rapid expansion of its manufacturing base and an equally rapid growth in population. Sadly the city’s textile industry fell into decline in the mid 20th century. Since that time the city has become   something of a rather popular short break destination with a respectable number guest houses providing Bradford bed and breakfast.

Discover the Wonderful Things About Tuscany Italy

Montag, April 27th, 2009

Each time I write about Tuscany Italy, my heart and my full body in fact experiences an intense feeling of calmness. I know precisely this feeling comes from the relaxed atmosphere this part of Italy near Florence gives off. I have found a perfect balance of enjoying the entrancing town of Florence and its cultural activities at the same time I refurbish energy by either doing a farm vacation or staying in a luxury villa in the countryside of Tuscany.

Venice Weather and What To Do

Montag, April 27th, 2009

The only map you need in Venice is the lazy maze of canals.
The impressive clockfaces must be ignored, timetables laid aside – Venice is a city made to meander, to merely watch the day go by.
In fact, describing Venice is almost a futile activity: only those who breathe and live in Venice can understand the music that floats through the city walls.
In some ways, Venice is picture-perfect, the postcard destination, down to the cobblestone streets and hole-in-the-wall pizzerias.
Yet, somewhere beneath the millions of tourists in Venice, there is a world of intrigue and surprise, darker laneways, curious alleys, stray cats and a labyrinth which begs one to be lost in it.
Enjoy the richness of Italian espresso (and you’ll have to, ‘to go’ isn’t in the Italian vocabulary) and marvel at the architecture – almost every building in Venice boasts an ancient history. The city is the crossroads of Europe, overflowing with culture, art, history and elegance.
The key tourist attractions are well known, there is the Basilica di San Marco with its towering domes, and the Palazzo Ducale. Visitors flock to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and the Gallerie dell’Accademia, with good reason.
Venice is designed for wandering and when you do there are amazing hidden gems to be found like the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute.
Of course, Venice continues the trend of the Italian shopping experience, with warm leathers and flowing silks readily available, but the street carts boast amusing trinkets to truly remind you of the everyday in Venice, whether it be a delicate sun umbrella, a Venetian mask, or even a customised gondola captain costume.
The millions are seemingly dispersed throughout the intertwined lanes of Venice; but still, peak seasons between May and September, Carnevale in February, and Easter and Christmas can leave travellers seeking peace.
The districts of Cannaregio, Dorsoduro and Castello are the eye in the storm, constantly quiet while Venice dances with life.
As the Italians put it, andare a spasso… just wander away – the city will be a better friend than your guidebook ever could be.
