The Best Caribbean Cruise to Take

You will find that there are many Caribbean cruises offered by a variety of cruise lines these days. It can be difficult to know what the best cruise to take is. Each cruise line tries to offer packages with unique activities to make your cruise special and memorable. The best Caribbean cruise to choose for you depends on what your interests are and what you want to do and see. May I share with you my favorite cruise? My favorite cruise so far, of the several cruises I have been on, is the Heart of the Caribbean cruise by Royal Caribbean. For eight days and seven nights this cruise offered alot of great activities and excursions! In my opinion it is the best Caribbean cruise.

The Heart of the Caribbean cruise travels for eight exciting days beginning in San Juan, Puerto Rico.Everyday on board or off the ship is an exciting adventure.

Oranjestad, Aruba is the first place the ship docks. It is located on the southern coast of the Caribbean. Oranjestad, meaning “Orangetown” is the Dutch capital of this very important city in Aruba. The Dutch architecture is delightful and colorful to the eye. Here you can take a caravan and visit many beautiful and stunning sights around the island including the California Lighthouse. Snorkeling is a great activity in Oranjestad.

Next you will visit Willemstad, Curacao which is off the Venezuelan coast. Between Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao, also known as the “ABC Islands”, the latter Curacao is the largest island. There is still a strong Dutch influence in the architecture and culture though it separted from the Netherlands in 1954. You won’t want to miss the spectacular underground lake and explore the Hato Caves in Willemstad. It is quite amazing site to see this undergound world. There is also a trolley-train tour that is enjoyable.

You will also stop in Philipsburg, Saint Maarten located in the northeast Caribbean. The Dutch and the French split this island. The Dutch side of the island is well known for its beaches and festive night life. The French side of the Caribbean is known for its nude beaches and clothing stores to shop in. This island is known as a shopper’s paradise because of the numerous duty-free boutiques. Here you can find crafts, jewelry, art, leather goods, designer clothes, and tobacco.

Saving the best for last, the final stop is in Saint Thomas, Virgin Islands. There is much to see and do in Saint Thomas which has been purchased by the United States. In this location you will find fabulous dining, great shopping, and magnificent white sandy beaches. While you are in Saint Thomas you do not want to miss the spectacular view of Magens Bay from the very famous Drakes Seat.

I’m sure you can see why I think this is the best Caribbean cruise to take. Along with the breathtaking places to visit you can enjoy the many onboard activities that will make this trip a memorable one for sure. Come aboard!
