Holiday at Batu Ferringhi, Penang

A stone’s throw from the Gurney vicinity is the famed Batu Ferringhi. This is where the captivating beaches are and where the fun takes place. All the luxury hotels here are amazing and a short distance from (if not on) the beach. There is a certain sort of life felt here, and it’s a totally beach bumming one that completes a true beach holiday.

Stepping into the Rasa Sayang Hotel, it felt as if I was in a private island and that I was worth millions of dollars. The degree of placidness here can essentially beat that of a monastery! For the price you pay for this sort of luxury, I would think its absolutely worth it. Patrons may even choose to dine in the absolute best grandeur and pick a spa session to complete your enticing escape.

The Holiday Inn, Park Royal Hotel and the Bayview Beach Resort all seemed similar to me, as they were priced slightly on the high side, but definitely cheaper than the Rasa Sayang. All of them had similar beach activities available including horse-riding, which was fun, even though for a short while. These hotels had excellent services and also had a child care center so the adults can enjoy their holiday without having to worry about their kids.

The Golden Sands I found was the most affordable and accommodating hotel as more families can opt to stay there with a smaller budget. Though not low cost, it’s still affordable and also offers all the beach facilities a beach hotel should showcase.

At night we tried Eden restaurant where fresh seafood was served and a live band performed. The Ship was an item we felt like trying but didn’t have the opportunity to. It was pity as its façade was very interesting and I’d definitely try to eat there another time. After dinner, we strolled up the road to the flea night market where i picked up some beachwear, sandals and a few bags for a unbeatable. There were also dvds, cigarette boxes and lighters, childrens toys, and paraphenalia displayed.
