I Found My Life Outdoors

For many years I stayed inside my house. I was always sitting around reading something or taking in a movie. I thought this was how life was supposed to be. Very rarely would I be involved in any kind of outdoor activities. I even let a neighborhood boy cut my grass, so I could stay in and do my thing. One day I realized how out of shape I was. It was enough to make me take action. I got involved with an exercise class, and began taking some personal training, and we did it outside.

I was hooked instantly. I had forgotten how good the fresh air was for my brain. My head cleared, and my thinking cleared with it. I felt brand new. It was amazing, the transformation that took place within me. I had been breathing that old stale air in the house for far too long. But no more. Now I was looking for even more things I could do outside.

Soon I was walking downtown from my house on a regular basis, just to be outside. One day the thought up taking up golf struck me, so I strolled down to our local book store and purchased a copy of the best golf instruction book they had. Not long afterward, I was teeing off on a regular basis, and loving every minute of it. I had gained a whole new life, and it had been right under my nose all this time.

I was totally transformed, in just a few weeks, not only by how I felt, but by how I looked. I was becoming lean and mean, fit and trim. There were a few of the local ladies who made nice comments on my transformation. As a single man, this gave me even more incentive to work out. I attended every class, and was full of enthusiasm. And my scores improved continuously at golf.

Months went by, and one day I met a wonderful woman at one of my exercise classes. We fast became very good friends. Before long we were taking those walks downtown together, and spent more and more time together every week after. It was only a year from our first meeting, that we both were wearing rhodium plated wedding rings. These things happened to me because I got out of my house, and embraced the outdoors.

We now have branched out and have been qualified to teach our own classes. It pays good, and we are extremely happy with our new lives. Sometimes I think back to the days when I stayed in and was a couch potato, and thought my life was fine. I am very thankful that I took action and saw a better way. Life is good and I am living it to the fullest.

Getting outside may not sound like much when you say it, but when you experience it, then you can get the full appreciation for it. The oxygen in the fresh air alone makes a big difference in how you think and feel. I recommend getting outside to anyone who just lays around in the house feeling dull and tired and bored. If you want to turn it around, get outside, and find someone special to enjoy it with. Your life will be much higher in quality, and much more full.
