The world’s only Drive in Volcano!

I was waiting to book my holiday till around Christmas time this year, so that I could take the family on a nice holiday to the Caribbean. So now i have just booked myself a great St Lucia holiday, after the one i went on last year, i decided to go back again. If i hadn’t had so much to do when i came back from my holiday, i would have written about this sooner. However now I am booking a holiday back to the same place, I thought I would share my experience with you.

We couldn’t wait to get to the hotel and chill out for the day, so we grabbed a taxi from the St Lucia international airport. The Accommodation at the Le Sport hotel we were staying at was amazing. St Lucia has a lovely forest that covers most of the island, and we went on two safaris through the jungle, other than that we spent a lot of our time at the beach.

I had read that there was a Volcano on the Island, but i hadn’t been told that we could visit it, or even drive through it. Now I have seen a volcano before, in Greece, but never one like this. This Drive in Volcano is called the St Lucia sulphur springs. This Volcano is Dormant, so there is nothing for you to worry about, just that if the smell of sulphur fades, this means the Volcano is preparing to Erupt!

There are points in the Crater where the water and mud is boiling. It is because of this that walking through the Volcano is a No, when a tour guide was showing people around, he fell straight into a boiling puddle. So now you may only drive through it on the designated path. There were some truly amazing colours layered all the way around the Volcano, and the smell of Sulphur was extremely strong. This sort of opportunity shouldn’t be passed up, so definitely give it a go. Driving through the Volcano was a rush with the Tour guides, so i am looking forward to it again.

For St Lucia holidays, Barbados holidays and Christmas holidays, you should consider contacting a tour operator immediately.
