“Small Country for a Great Vacation”, was the slogan that attracted me in abundance of tourist brochures, which tourist agency employee presented to me – where I bravely stepped in with the intention to spend the best vacation, my first as a happily married woman!
The fact that I traveled for the first time on vacation as Mrs. Wife meant that “my worse half” left me the organization of vacation, choice of destination and limited amount of money on the credit cards. Not as a sign of great confidence in my experience as a world traveler, or from unselfish drive to satisfy my caprice, but sure in one thing – that this will be the worst vacation ever! Just because I refused to spend our first summer vacation in a tent under the stars, armed with fishing poles, in the middle of nowhere, so that he can find peace in nature! NIRVANA is totally out this season. After all, who says that peace cannot be found in cities?
The compromise is crucial in marriage, so Croatia is definitely the perfect place for our vacation! With 5835.3 km long coastline, of which more than 4085 kilometers of islands, islets and reefs, crystal clear sea rich with fish, and more than 1,000 shopping centers with a world-recognized brands, I knew I cannot make a mistake! While my beloved enjoys at sea catching swordfish or some other sea-beast, I will enjoy lying in the sun in front of our 5 stars hotel. While my darling is diving, I will enjoy in the spa and in the evening we will both, exhausted from the physical activities during the day, enjoy Mediterranean dishes and of course, excellent local wines!
